Our beautiful Mira has blossomed during her fourteenth month. Every day I find myself asking, "Was she able to do that yesterday?"
Mira is an amazingly good sport at trying new things. She does maintains an initially apprehensive approach to swimming pools, but she quickly lets herself enjoy. Thanks to Aunt Caro for those stylish sun glasses on this bathing beauty!

There are a lot of "firsts" to enjoy this month - Mira's first steps, her first signs, and her first refrigerator artwork! Just as it was with crawling, Mira decided it was time to let go and stand on her own, sometimes even taking independent steps. It's amazing to watch her stoop and recover a stick on the ground and then return to standing. Amazing, but not surprising, to see our little angel show off new tricks.

Mira knows the signs for "more," "water," and "all done." Now her parents need to brush up on their sign langauge skills, lest they hamper her progress.

We have also seen Mira's verbal communication skills continue to grow. We have seen her open a book on her own and start "reading" out loud as she points to the pictures. What a big girl!
