Mira Roberta: 13 Months and 100% Toddler

Thirteen month old Mira is a traveling, smiling, eating, talking guru. Her da-da-da, ba-ba-ba, la-la-la repertoire has been amplified by the addition of ... "Mama!" That might be slightly more exciting to one specific individual than to others, but her abilities to communicate continue to amaze us. She points, sings, and directs us to serve her (her needs and wants are the only things that matter, right?)

Mira walks (yes, walks, not completely on her own just yet, but only holding onto one hand) into school every day carrying her backpack. She has moved into the "big girl" classroom where no bottles are allowed, she gets to go outside everyday, and where the girls have their hair done (though we're not too surprised that while the other girls may sit calmly, Mira has a tendency to be stubborn and decide herself if that's what she wants; who knows where she learned that quality).

Our beautiful Mira also enjoys being an angel of the night, which would be fabulous if her parents didn't need any sleep. She does "not go gentle into that good night," preferring to play and stay up with her parents.
And when if she does go to sleep at a reasonable time, she thinks its appropriate to delay that play time until 10 or 11pm. We do take full responsibility for this; who can blame her with her parents being such fabulous people?
