Happy 3 month birthday to Mira! As a 3 month old, Mira has started clearly communicating her likes and dislikes. Her smiles light up the room (and our lives!) when she's happy, but don't try to take her food away to burp if she isn't ready to take a break. She has started watching people now, rather than just inanimate objects, and she's started following with her eyes. It's nice to know that Sandi and Dan are now almost as entertaining as a blank wall.
It's recommended that parents begin to read to their children at 3 months of age (yes, we are affected by having a pediatrician in the family), but Dan has been reading to Mira every night for weeks. The first time he tried, however, he put the book down before finishing it because Mira wasn't interested in maintaining her focus on the pictures. As a grown-up 3 month old, Mira now appears to be looking at the pages when Dan reads to her. We hope she's enjoying Dr. Seuss as much as we are!
