Born in the USA

Mira celebrated her first July 4th in style (click on her picture to see the stars on her outfit). She was also ready to help Dan and Sandi debut their new patio furniture (a beautiful wooden glider and a matching chair for their fifth wedding anniversary, the "wood" anniversary). The "cook-out" we had planned for some Rice students and faculty, however, became a "cook-in" due to rain. Nonetheless, we all enjoyed our afternoon, and we finished the day at Miller Outdoor Theater. The concert, by the Houston Symphony, was complete with cannons during the 1812 Overture and fireworks to follow. Mira slept through all of it.
And, Nana and Zayde, we did bring the apple cobbler and egg salad sandwiches, but, no, it just wasn't the same without you :)
